Mardo end-user license agreement
This agreement is between Floof Logic LLC (“Floof Logic”) and the individual who downloads, installs, or uses Mardo (“you”).
License grant
Subject to these terms, Floof Logic grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Mardo on Macs that you personally own or control.
A paid Mardo 1 license is perpetual for Mardo 1 and includes Mardo 1.x updates. A future major version may require a separate purchase. The license is for one individual. It does not authorize use for a company, organization, shared workstation, service bureau, or other business purpose. A future business license may provide those rights.
Viewer mode and evaluation
Mardo’s viewer functions remain available without payment. Editing and PDF export include an evaluation period of 14 active-use days. An active-use day is a UTC day on which you ask Mardo to begin an editing session or export a PDF; merely opening or reading a file does not consume a day. Day 14 is enabled. The next active-use day returns those capabilities to viewer mode unless a valid license is installed.
The evaluation record is local and resettable. The evaluation license permits evaluation, not repeated resets to avoid purchasing continued paid use.
Offline certificate
Your paid entitlement is a signed offline certificate. It requires no Mardo account, activation, device registration, or periodic license server. You may keep reasonable backup copies for your own use, but may not publish, sell, share, or transfer the certificate or let another person use it.
The certificate is valid only for the signed product, major version, feature set, license class, and licensed individual. A refund cannot technically revoke an offline certificate; accepting a refund ends the paid license grant and requires you to remove the certificate and stop using paid capabilities.
Your files
You retain ownership of your documents. Mardo is file-first software and does not claim ownership of, upload, or host your Markdown files. Remote resources referenced by a document may be requested from their host when Mardo renders them; see the privacy notice.
Restrictions
Except where applicable law gives you a right that cannot be waived, you may not redistribute Mardo, make it available as a hosted service, sell or rent it, remove proprietary notices, use another person’s certificate, or defeat the license system for continued paid use. You may not use Mardo in violation of law or another person’s rights.
Ownership and third-party materials
Mardo is licensed, not sold. Floof Logic retains all rights not expressly granted. Third-party fonts, color data, and cryptographic code are governed by notices distributed with Mardo.
Updates, support, and termination
Floof Logic may provide updates but does not promise a particular feature or update schedule. Support and certificate recovery follow the support policy. This license ends if you materially breach these terms. On termination, stop using paid capabilities and remove the certificate and application. Viewer access under a later distribution remains subject to its then-current terms.
Warranty and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mardo is provided “as is” and without warranties, and Floof Logic is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages or loss of data, profits, or business. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Floof Logic’s aggregate liability related to Mardo will not exceed the amount you paid for it. Some jurisdictions do not allow particular exclusions or limits, so those exclusions or limits may not apply to you. Nothing here limits non-waivable consumer rights.
Changes and contact
Materially changed terms apply prospectively and will be published with a new effective date. Questions may be sent to support@mardo.app.
